Donna has been in QUEST’s Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) since her diagnosis in 2012 (which she travels 400 miles round trip for!). This program provides information to researchers around the world.
In 2016, Donna started Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research in the D (Detroit). There weren’t many local organizations at the time, and she decided to change that. She initiated an annual gala that’s raised over $1 million in the last 5 years with 100% of donations going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. She also started a women’s Poolside Chat to address the needs of women in PD research and treatment!
Donna has opened new doors and opportunities for research funding, participation, and women living with PD. Her contributions continue to make advancements to slow the progression of Parkinson’s and find a cure. She is the behind-the-scenes person that no one sees, but research couldn’t move forward without!
