Caroline and Art were married in 2019, and the following year, Art was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, at age 60. As can be imagined, this was a devastating diagnosis, given his young age and their recent marriage. Despite living more than two hours away, Caroline ensured that Art would make it to all his clinical trial visits. She has become an advocate, sharing her story speaking elegantly about their journey through this disease. Caroline has provided interviews, both for print and television, increasing the awareness of young onset Alzheimer’s disease and how to guide someone through the stages of change.
