Axiom Brain Health (Axiom) a Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation ® (GAP) owned and operated site, is celebrating the next chapter in neurodegenerative research as Dr. Jeffrey Greenberg joins the team as Medical Director and Principal Investigator. This new leadership will drive continued momentum in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia with Lewy bodies and other dementias and devastating neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Greenberg brings more than two decades of experience in clinical neurology and a longstanding passion for clinical research. He completed his neurology residency and fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and spent the past 23 years in clinical practice, treating patients in New Jersey with a broad range of neurological conditions, while also serving as an Investigator on numerous clinical trials. After years of direct patient care, he has stepped away from clinical practice to dedicate his time and expertise fully to clinical research at Axiom Brain Health.

“It has been a privilege to serve as Medical Director and Principal Investigator, and I am delighted to welcome Dr. Jeff Greenberg as my successor.  In his previous positions, Dr. Greenberg has demonstrated not only outstanding clinical expertise, but also the compassion and integrity that define exceptional patient care”, said Dr. Susan Steen, “I have full confidence in his ability to lead our clinical research program into the next era with the same dedication and care we have always stood for.  I look forward to watching his continued success, and I know our research volunteers and staff are in the best of hands.”

Honoring Dr. Susan Steen’s Legacy

The full transition of responsibility will take place by the end of 2026. Dr. Steen will remain an integral part of Axiom Brain Health during this period, helping to transition site leadership and support the transfer of responsibilities.

Dr. Greenberg’s arrival provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Dr. Susan Steen, whose decades of expertise, leadership and dedication to neurological research have helped shape Axiom Brain Health and its impact on the Tampa community.

“Dr. Steen and her team have built an exceptional site over the years, and her legacy in the field speaks for itself.  It is truly an honor to be entrusted with her legacy.  At the heart of my work is a simple goal: To bring hope to people living with neurodegenerative diseases and their families,” said Dr. Jeff Greenberg, “When this opportunity came along, I did not hesitate.  I am excited to build on this momentum and play a part in making this site, and the greater site network a leading force in the years ahead.”

Dr. Steen has played an important role in advancing clinical research and expanding opportunities for participants in the search for better treatments. Axiom is grateful for her years of service and leadership and the lasting impact of her knowledge, compassion and commitment to her patients, study volunteers and research.

Axiom’s growth comes at a critical time, as the need for innovative research into neurodegenerative diseases continues to increase. Since Axiom became a GAP owned and operated site in 2024, the site expanded its Tampa research facility from a single 1,700-square-foot suite serving a team of six to a three-suite, 3,900-square-foot facility designed to support a growing research program. The expanded facility now brings together 15 specialized research professionals focused on advancing clinical trials and developing potential therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other life-threatening neurological conditions.

Axiom Brain Health will host a community open house to welcome Dr. Greenberg and recognize the contributions of Dr. Steen, the participants, research professionals and community partners who make clinical research possible.
