Non-profit expands research network to Southeast Texas to improve access to research opportunities
Washington D.C., Aug. 8, 2024-?Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation® (GAP) is welcoming a new clinical research site into its global network of best-in-class research sites, Gadolin Research of Beaumont, Texas.
Gadolin Research is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and improving healthcare outcomes through innovative research and development. Its team of experienced physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals work tirelessly to bring new treatments, therapies, and medical technologies to the forefront of healthcare.
“We welcome the opportunity to expand our network in Beaumont, Texas,” said GAP President John Dwyer. “At GAP, we are committed to accelerating clinical research for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and we want to ensure that the research represents all who are impacted by these diseases. In Beaumont, where more than 43% of the residents are African American, we are eager to support Gadolin to expand brain health education and improve access to the cutting-edge CNS research we can jointly pursue, as we welcome the site to our network.”
Gadolin Research joins more than 130 clinical trial sites that make up the GAP network, GAP- Net,?that conducts and supports GAP-sponsored and GAP-enabled clinical trials to advance and accelerate neurodegenerative research. GAP partners with both private and academic research sites to aid in the collaborative effort of finding cures and treatments for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. There are 6.7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and that’s expected to more than double to 13.8 million people by 2060. In Texas, it is currently estimated that 11.9% of the population is living with dementia1. The only way to find treatments and cures for this disease is through clinical trials, and so GAP is pleased to join forces with Gadolin Research to accelerate the needed clinical research.
