Mary Park

Mary is a kind and gentle soul who first started volunteering in June 2019 after receiving a diagnosis of Mild Alzheimer’s Disease. Though she initially struggled with feelings of anger, sadness, and frustration, she came to terms with the diagnosis and has shown remarkable strength ever since. She screened for her first clinical trial in November 2019 and has continued to visit the clinic every two weeks.

A dedicated volunteer throughout her life, Mary has served on boards for dementia care facilities, guided tours at a heritage village, and supported her local hospital. She and her husband view clinical trial participation as a meaningful extension of that volunteer spirit, always emphasizing that her goal is “to help other people.” Mary’s warm smile and welcoming presence at the Kawartha Centre make newcomers feel safe, supported, and encouraged.
