LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Clinical Neurology Specialists (CNS) in Las Vegas is participating in a groundbreaking international study sponsored by the Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation.

The Bio-Hermes-002 study seeks volunteers with memory concerns to help identify blood or digital tests that could predict the presence of amyloid plaques or tau tangles in the brain, key indicators of Alzheimer’s disease. John Dwyer, president of the Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation, emphasized the importance of this research, noting that nearly 55,000 Nevadans are currently living with Alzheimer’s. “This collaboration allows Nevada seniors the opportunity to participate locally in research shaping the future of Alzheimer’s diagnosis through less invasive, more accessible blood-based and digital tools,” Dwyer said.

Participants in the study will receive information about their brain health, which may aid in decisions for continued care, and there is no cost to volunteers.

The study is a follow-up to Bio-Hermes-001, which was instrumental in the FDA’s clearance of the first blood test to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease.
