Axiom Brain Health’s Dr. Susan Steen to be Honored at Inspire, Imagine, and Hope Gala on Friday

Tampa, FL, Mar 25, 2026—  Axiom Brain Health (Axiom) is pleased to announce Dr. Susan Steen will be honored by the Alzheimer’s Association – Florida Gulf Coast Chapter at the Inspire, Imagine, and Hope Gala on Friday, March 27, 2026, at The Gathering @ Armature Works in Tampa.

“I am delighted to receive this honor from the Alzheimer’s Association. I have dedicated my career to helping people living with Alzheimer’s disease, and at Axiom Brain Health our work to end Alzheimer’s disease through early detection and research closely aligns with that of the Alzheimer’s Association. It is humbling to receive such a distinction, and I look forward to our continued progress in the field so we can bring hope to all families impacted by this devastating disease,” said Dr. Susan Steen.

Dr. Steen is the Principal Investigator (PI) at Axiom, and is also involved with American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Assoc, Fl Med Assoc, Hillsborough County Med Assoc, Athena Society, and Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART) along with being a board member of Florida’s Gulf Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association since 2018.

The team at Axiom Brain Health specializes in conducting Phase II-IV neurological clinical trials, such as Alzheimer’s, in a comfortable outpatient setting. In the last two years, with a recent expansion, Axiom grew from a staff of 6 to having 12 full-time employees at the memory clinic and research innovation center. In that time, Dr. Steen was chosen as the international PI for the Bio-Hermes-002 study, which demonstrates how widely respected Axiom is in the field. Furthermore, the site was recently the first to screen patients in a Merck Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating a treatment, MK-2214, aimed at slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The growth in this clinical research site is ensuring that the Tampa community is included in cutting-edge research and neurological services.

Florida has the second highest number of senior citizens in the nation, and it is estimated that approximately 580,000 people are currently living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Experts predict that this number will dramatically increase.  Through collaborating with the Alzheimer’s Association, Dr. Steen and Axiom Brain Health are both committed to working to find an end for Alzheimer’s and all other dementias.
