Driving Miss Daisy is a business, that transports our participants to the clinic for their appointments and to the MRI and PET facility. One particular driver, Dan makes a point to include volunteers and their spouses in conversation, being treated with respect and humanity whether they are living with Alzheimer’s disease or not. Their kind compassion and willingness to go above and beyond makes them a trusted and necessary partner for our research trials. If Kawartha did not have an organization like this to count on for participants’ transportation needs, many people would be excluded from participating in research.
