Years ago, as a vice president of product management for a semiconductor software company in Portland, Bob first noticed trouble with his memory. Bob got tested to learn he had mild impairment from Alzheimer’s disease, and yet he did not let that discourage him Instead, it inspired him to become a part of the Eisai Clarity study which allowed the FDA to approve lecanemab as the first disease-modifying treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to years of volunteering, Bob also shares his experience in hopes of compelling others to also join clinical research. He has been a constant advocate for other individuals in support groups with memory impairments by directing them to resources he has found helpful. He is a shining example of what a Citizen Scientist should be.
