William Duane Williams

Duane efforts as a powerful blend of personal dedication, advocacy, and hands-on involvement in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Motivated by his wife’s diagnosis, he has turned his personal journey into a mission to support research, raise awareness, and improve the clinical trial experience for others. As an early and dedicated member of the Patient Advisory Board, he has worked tirelessly to elevate the voices of participants, ensuring that their feedback and needs are heard and addressed. His advocacy for diversity in research is especially powerful, informed by his professional experience working with the Sheriff’s Department. There, he witnessed firsthand the impact of representation and access in underserved communities, which only deepened his belief that clinical research must reflect the populations it aims to serve. Through his words and actions, he champions the importance of including people from all backgrounds in the search for cure and treatments, making sure that no one is left behind.
