GAP Commends House of Representatives on Passage of the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act

The House of Representatives has passed The Dr. Emmanuel Bilirakis and Honorable Jennifer Wexton National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act. GAP is celebrating this exciting news and commends all who helped to make this monumental achievement possible. We are grateful for the leadership of the House in ensuring that this legislation passed, especially from U.S. Representatives Gus Bilirakis and Paul Tonko. Additionally, we applaud Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Representative Jennifer Wexton, Representative Frank Pallone, Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers and others for their support. We also are grateful for the tireless work of our allies at the Michael J. Fox Foundation, as they have helped drive this legislation to become a reality.

This legislation will allow experts to join forces in a public-private partnership to accelerate a national project focused on the prevention, treatment, and cure of Parkinson’s disease which is so desperately needed. GAP is committed to supporting the efforts that will be made possible by this landmark legislation and remains an ally working furiously to accelerate the research needed to find a cure for this cruel disease.
